About
Dug - CO
My foster dad is Scottish ( I call him Pops’ ) and he named me “ Dog” but it’s pronounced “ Dug “. I think “ Dug” is a cool name as I’m a handsome teenager that will grow up to be distinguished old man ( like Pop’s ) . I’m a GSP Lab/ mix weighing in about 60 pounds but would gladly put on more if given the chance! ( I’ve heard Beer and Haggis are high in calories) Here is a bit more on my genealogy.
Spoiler alert … I’m not Scottish. About 18 months ago I was brought into this world and somehow three months ago did something that landed me in the ole sin bin. AKA: The dog pound in Texas. I hung out there with my chums until some nice people in CO picked me up.
Pop’s is letting me lodge on his 35 -acre ranch with three other GSP’s and this thing called an Australian Cattle Dog / Heeler. Damn little dog runs the show but I don’t care if this Heeler dude with a Scottish name is mentally unstable as I just chill. I get to run off leash and let the wildlife to do wildlife things and those big dogs called horses are pretty cool. Pops has a cat that thinks he’s a dog and I like him too. I do a lot of outside things but I also have a soft spot for the cozy warm cabin. I prefer to nestle on the soft couch or pillow in my crate. Let me be clear the couch in front of the warm fire is my first choice and a fine choice indeed. I also prefer dining in style and savor my food by chewing slowly and able to enjoy a snack anytime as there is always left overs in a bowl. Pop’s has a big truck that fits all of us (including the Aussie Dude). I like to sit quietly in the back seat and take in the scenery as we chug down the road. Pop’s breaks out the leash and I sit for him to clip it to my collar and we stroll the sidewalks. I also sometimes wear an orange electronic device ( E-Collar ) and learning when it beeps that I know I need to pay attention.
Ok… so here is the sales pitch: Pop’s is going to start charging me rent and need to find a more permanent home to squat at. Looking for a home with or without kids or other animals as I am very quiet and chilled but remember the couch/chair is a must. Occasional car rides and walks are always a great way for me to see the world. I do enjoy my toys and occasional bones but most of all I enjoy being loyal and grateful to those who look after me. Like Pop’s I have a good personality and enjoy life.
