Maverick - CO

Hi, my name is Maverick, and I'd like to be your new best friend! My old best friend left me behind when they moved out, and I just can't understand why. I am a very good boy. I clearly was loved at one point because I was taught to sit (really well) and fetch a tennis ball and am easily corrected when I try to do something I want to do but am not supposed to. I'm pretty good on a leash, too! I'm just 18 months old, so I'm very playful and love to go on walks and sniff around the yard. If I get my morning exercise in, I'm pretty chill for the rest of the day. I am an A+ snuggler and want to be wherever my foster mom is - preferably within 2 feet of her. When she needs to run errands, I wait calmly in the kennel. During the day, she lets me wander in and out through the doggie door which has prevented accidents in the house and keeps the yard squirrel-free! I haven't tried to jump the fence or dig out. I used to live with other dogs, but I've been a single dog since being here. I am curious about all the people and dogs we pass while walking in the neighborhood, but I get overwhelmed and a little scared by too many people and too much commotion. I don't know how I feel about cats or kids as they just haven't been around. I do know I will be an awesome companion to my new family and am ready to find them soon!
